Dr. Porter attended the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) in Texas and received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. He then continued to the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

His professional memberships include American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), and the San Antonio District Dental Society (SADDS).

Dr. Porter also participates in the Seattle Study Club®, Kois Continuum, Robbins/Rouse Aesthetic Institute, and CEREC® Advanced Courses, to name a few.
